STARTER VEGGIE PATCH

If you've never gardened before, you have no clue what you are missing out on --a bond with nature. Fortunately, growing vegetables is not as hard, you just have to know the gardening basics. Growing great tasting vegetables does take a little knowledge and effort, but after spending time with TEAM U.N.I.T.Y you will have a better understanding of nature and much more. The rest you’ll learn as you go, which is the real best part of gardening; overcoming unexpected obstacles and ending the season with a hearty harvest. You literally get to eat the fruits of your labor. I warn you, it’s addictive. You have to be willing to put work into it and you can have a wonderful patch of veggies.

THE NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF VEGETABLES

A diet rich in vegetables contains beneficial antioxidants that help reduce your risk of cancer, stroke, and heart disease. These antioxidants are just some of the nutritional benefits of eating vegetables. Vegetables contain vitamins, such as folate and B6, and carotinoids — such as lycopene in tomatoes, beta carotene in mangos and carrots, lutein in spinach and collard greens, and zeaxanthin in greens and corn.
